Junior and Senior Kindergarten
Students under the age of 6 (as of December 31 of the school year) are enrolled in our Kindergarten program.
Grade 1 to 8
ISOC offers a regular elementary school program for students in grades 1 to 8. It follows the regular curriculum prescribed by the Ontario Ministry of Education. The regular programs include the core areas of Language, Math, Science and Technology, Physical Education and the Arts. Register here.
A full time Grade 9 High School Program will be offered in September 2020. The high school will offer education focusing on academic success and core Islamic values. Students will be making use of both the new and existing buildings, with full access to a state-of-the-art gym, fully equipped science lab, library and of course the masjid, offering them a well-rounded educational experience. Qur’an and Prayers
Students learn how to read and recite the Qur’an in a proper manner. All students attend dhuhr prayer daily, as well as Jum’ah prayer on Fridays.
The Islamic Studies Program is an important part of the Grade J to 8 Curriculum. It is a comprehensive program and includes topics such as faith in Allah the Creator, the pillars of Islam, how to do wudu and steps in prayer, Seerat (life of the Prophet Mohammed, p.b.u.h.) and his teachings, examples and life stories of other prophets, and the teachings of Islamic values such as truth, justice. Students also learn about Islamic values, ethics, history and geography.
The teaching of Islam is integrated across the curriculum to reinforce the idea that all knowledge comes from Allah.
ISOC offers French classes for students from grades 3 – 8, following the Provincial curriculum.
