Junior and Senior Kindergarten
Students under the age of 6 (as of December 31 of the school year) are enrolled in Kindergarten program.
Grade 1 to 8
ISOC offers a regular elementary school program for students in grades 1 to 8. It follows the regular curriculum prescribed by the Ontario Ministry of Education. The regular programs include the core areas of Language, Math, Science and Technology, Physical Education and the Arts.
Qur’an and Prayers
Students learn how to read and recite the Qur’an in a proper manner. All students attend dhuhr prayer daily, as well as Jum’ah prayer on Fridays.
The Islamic Studies Program is an important part of the Grade J to 8 Curriculum. It is a comprehensive program and includes topics such as faith in Allah the Creator, the pillars of Islam, how to do wudu and steps in prayer, Seerat (life of the Prophet Mohammed, p.b.u.h.) and his teachings, examples and life stories of other prophets, and the teachings of Islamic values such as truth, justice. Students also learn about Islamic values, ethics, history and geography.
The teaching of Islam is integrated across the curriculum to reinforce the idea that all knowledge comes from Allah.
ISOC offers French classes for students from grades 3 – 8, following the Provincial curriculum.
ISOC offers a full time Hifz Program, Monday-Friday from 8am-4pm. Students will be able to study and memorize the Qur’an, while also taking subjects such as Math, Science and Language.
